New to me GasGas, I'm in! - Page 2

I've never had a problem starting mine, but I do the fuel-on, lean-til-it-dribbles, put-in-gear-and-rock-back-and-forth trick on all open 2 strokes. They seem to like that routine. 2nd kick every time, but it is carburetted oh so perfectly so that definitely helps too.

I'd suggest running race gas if you're in the States. These bikes really appreciate it.

Choose your fuel type and stick with it, then jet for about 90:1. Happy bike.

If you figure out how to get yours to stop overheating or breaking the clutch shaft selector hat thing, let me know. Or, I guess I could stop crashing the bike into piles of rocks.

Fall on the other side, lol. But I have moved the shift lever up from 9 o'clock position (flat with ground) up to 10 o'clock. for a while the Shifter lever itself, were cut a lot, hoping the lever itself would break, before anything else. but in was it 06? that they put a part just in behind the clutch basket that is supposed to break if too much force happens, it wasnt too hard to fix that, I have had to do it 1 time, on a 06 125.

Ha... I was just perusing online listings and I think I saw that bike. On GasGas.com out of Merritt Island? I was wishing I was closer to FL....

That's the one K N Fodder.

I've got a 5 hr drive tomorrow to pick it up but think it's worth it.

The previous owner was nice enough to drive 2.5 to meet me in Gainesville saving me 5 more hrs of driving.

Some people are just nice.

Funny... I have an '08 EXC-R (that I love) and am looking (don't tell the wife) for a Trials bike as well...

10 hrs of driving and 6 hrs of tear down and clean up and I now have a parts list.

All it needs is rear wheel bearings and a new air filter. Add a couple things I want and I'm set.

No issues starting it. Just choke it and kick it.

I didn't tell the wife until it was a done deal and the kids had theirs. May be a good technique to use but I can't be responsible for what she may do to you.

Guess I am one of the few lucky ones, the last 2 new bikes I have picked up have been hers. including the new gas gas TXT pro 125.

If you end up needing any parts for that thing I've got a new Gas Gas dealer here in NC that's awesome. Extremely trustworthy, communicative, helpful (as in I called him and said I need that thingy that does this thingy in the transmission) and he knew exactly what it was (a tiny circlip) without question and located the right part on microfiche, ordered it, etc no whining. Which, I find, is not standard issue when it comes to trials bike dealers. Let's just say that they tend to be "eclectic".

At any rate, I got mine to stop overheating by replacing everything related to the cooling with the exception of the radiator itself and the water pump. It was either the rad cap, thermostat, or radiator fan.

Good idea on the 9 o'clock shift lever position Sting, I'll give that a try. And try to crash more on the right side. Ha!
