Belice and Guatemala

Hello everyone, two friends and I are planning to ride to Belize and Guatemala, around the end of July, Well my friends are from Orizaba, Veracruz State, and you know, I live near from Toluca, Mexico state, so our plan is ride through Belice, entering for Chetumal to get to Tikal in Guatemala and after that go back by same route.
We want to save money because we do not have a lot of money, we will go "al mochilazo" (with a little bit of money.)
Could you give us some suggestions and advices about riding, eating, camping zones, cheap hotels, that are there?
some advriders live near from our route to drink a beer? well just one beer jajajaja
all the best...
Fabian Diaz.

Fabian Diaz.

If you want to save money , skip Yucatan and Belice and come directly to Guatemala , there is so much more to see here then just Tikal .

Thank you very much for your advice but We want to ride through Yucatán State and the Quintana Roo coast (I never have been there), in my next post I will post our route in the map, however I am going to share your advice with my friends.
What does it need to cross the border in Guatemala?
Fabian Diaz

Fabian Diaz.

I remember a conversation from about two years ago that sounded very much like this one....I still haven't ridden in Belize.

And you will never hear me complain or regret not going to Belize on that trip!

Thanks again, GuateRider,
another question... I am sorry
Can it trades with dollars in Guatemala or we need to change mexican pesos or dollars into quetzales?
Well in Mexico we can trade with dollar in cities from north of country, near from the border (Cd Juarez, Nuevo Laredo, Tijuana, etc) and in Cancun too.

Gracias de nuevo, GuateRider,
otra pregunta ... disculpa

We want to skip Belize but we want to ride through Yucatán State and Quintana Roo, they say that the coast is beautiful so I hope it can camp along the beach.
Thanks
Fabian Diaz.

You can change dollars almost everywhere in the country , or just change the Pesos to Quetzales at the border .

It's about time that you Ironbutt down to Guate again , so that we can do some rerouting and rescheduling for your return ride up north

Don't miss Calakmul

In Campeche state don't miss going to the ruins at Calakmul.
This was the best experience we had at Mexican site. The ride in thru
the jungle is amazing and there we only 10 other people there and no
vendors. There is camping on the road into the park.
