As I understand it NOLA isn't finished yet. There are plans for more grandstands on different parts of the track. Still, there is only so much you can do with a completely flat track.

The last turn with the pit wall next to the track was a joke they had to put a line on the track then penalize you if you went over the painted line. To me it was worse than the old turn 12 at Road Atlanta.

1) Ray Blank retires.
2) Honda offers a decent contingency package for all AMA Pro Road Racing classes, WERA and a bunch of club racing programs. 3) Rumors of a Honda supported team returning to AMA on some level. (I'm posting unsubstantiated rumors and implying cause and effect. Maybe I'm qualified to write for Soup?) http://www.roadracingworld.com/news/...?article=50548

That's the unsubstantiated rumor I've heard, but I haven't heard a rider yet. There are so many good riders without confirmed teams that it's not crazy to suggest that a Team Hammer / Rider X / Honda team could be a contender.
Any news on a TV deal?!?! I think everybody is going to be reluctant to spend money until they know more about that. |

In 2003/4 the Honda club contingency was what they pay AMA now. Each CCS division had 4 pay days and F-USA paid every round. There were lots of riders who went all over the country racing for club contingency money. Most of them had tire contracts as well, so they could actually make a little money if they were front runners.

Team Hammer Releases Martin Cardenas
“We recognize that Martin’s heart is set on racing in the Superbike World Championship, and that the best way to help Martin achieve his goal is to allow him to take advantage of another opportunity now." Hmmm... |
