Wrigley NWT to Fort McPherson, YT
Hey, what's this noise about a road to be built from Wrigley NWT to Fort McPherson, YT? And another 100 mile stretch from Invuik, YT to Tuktoyaktuk, YT? Sounds like a good time to me!

Do you have a link to a new storey? Would be big mega $$ to do the project. There are some winter roads that do connect some of the locations. There is a planned route (winter road) through the area for construction of a pipeline from tuk or inuvik to points south. There are winter roads from Norman wells to Wrigley that basically follow the pipeline going south. The winter road from Norman wells to tulita can be completed in a quad/dirt bike in summer (do not get caught ) but from Wrigley to Tulita there is a huge frozen lake/ swamp. About 20 miles across. Do not know what to call it that would require extreme road building skills. From Norman wells north there is a planned route for winter road for pipeline access if it ever gets built.
Do you have more info? That would be a fun road to do if built. Sent from my rotary phone using MS DOS 1.1 |

I ran across this site: freeownersmanualpdf.net/ebook/mackenzie-highway-extension-engineering-update.pdf
I wonder if this is ever going to happen.

Just googled it a skimmed over the document. Think I was reading the same one. Interesting. This is what I know. All bridges and culverts between Norman wells and Tulita completed. Some bridges and culverts between Wrigley and Tulita done. No bridge on the great bear river and another river. Black water? But the document was the plan to build the road. At anytime the plan could be up for tender. So maybe a little more is done?
