Ya, what the report didn't tell you is it took me 3 hours to get to the "saddle". It was far worse than what it had been the last time we did it Drew. That coupled with me riding a 2 smoke I could't handle really pressed us for time. My right leg is twice as big as my left today from the 5000 kicks yesterday. Thanks guys for the patience...never again without an electric start.

I snapped a couple of pics.

Strappy loves the smell of 2 smoke in the morning! 2T with the magic button, trials tire, and a rekluse topped by a talented rider made it all look easy.

4Play and RWAZ scheming.

Yardstick came with a trials tire, to make molehills out of these mountains.

Nightstalker the Madman!!!

HTM at the start of Rug Road. The new Gas Gas without the magic button haunted HTM on those brutal climbs.

One of these bikes is not like the others. 4Play was the lone rider on a knobby. Not that it made much difference. Number one, he's talented enough that he could have made it up the hills on street tires and two, we all aired up ours to 10-11 psi in the flatlands, which was 13-15 on these mountains. They were acting pretty much like street tires, anyway! Once I dropped the pressure down it was so much easier.

Nightstalker passing me again.

The Rug part of the road. Maybe a few thousand more rugs might cover up most of those rocks.

At the bottom of the rug part of Rug Rd. I'm not sure if I've ever worked that hard getting down a simple Jeep road. Nightstalker agrees.:loll

Unfortunately, now we had to climb back up the other side. No pics there. It was a don't stop kinda hill!

Finally arriving at the saddle. All were glad to be standing.

By time everyone got to the saddle and rested it was noon. As Nightstalker said, once we were told of a way around the climb back up Rug hill, we all agreed to cruise back to the trucks and attempt the entire ride another day.

It sounds like you need to do one of two things... get the magic button or invest in a rekluse

Kicking that bike, picking it up on top of riding the trail makes for a pretty long day I bet.

I am in for the next trip if I can make it work schedule wise.

Nice report guys.
I think HTM is brave to attempt a ride like that on an unfamiliar bike that rings and can only be kicked.
Sounds like there needs to be a redo some time after the start of the new year!
If someone has the tracks for the bypass I would appreciate you sharing them with me.

I was one of the guys with the UTVs that told you about the by pass. The Yam 230 was left by one of us - it was gettting too nasty so he parked and jumped in one of the UTVs - we made it on to the mine and then piked the bike up on the way out.

Glad you made it - I have a track - different way than you guys took after Miller road - PM me with your email and I will send it along - or I might post it up to Dualsportmaps.

Nice RR guys, I am glad that I was at my company holiday event, otherwise I might have been out there with you.

HTM, you need to try a bike with the electric starter button....... but I do have to hand it to you and your persistence to keep trying this trail. Glad that everyone made it through and the photos are excellent!
