Just got a letter from JD Power & Associates
It looks like we have been chosen to possibly test a New Full Size Sedan (actual wording) for two months. Of course we accepted the offer via their website! Keeping my fingers crossed they let us do it, I think this would be fun even though they did not tell us what kind of car it will be.
Has anyone else tested a car for JD Power or anyone else like this??? |

That letter didn't come from Nigeria, did it?
Sounds interesting! Let us know how it all works out. Regards Bernd |

I thought JD Power did surveys of vehicle owners.

That would be my dream job. I'd love testing our various cars even if they're plain and ordinary. You can add power tools, light and heavy equipment, firearms, and appliances to that list as well. Oh yeah- motorcycles too. Almost forgot about those.

Among JD Power's paying customers are the automakers. At Ford we hired them to coordinate focus groups, etc. My group never did customer drive evaluations like this one, but it sounds legit.
Of course, the follow-up email asking for a Western Union insurance deposit could be on its way!

EZ liget check. Pull up the JD Powers website, find contacts, contact them through through the website (not any links in the letter). Ask questions. Works great for any too good to be true offers.
I have done some stuff like this int he past (both sides of the survey) and they are generally pretty liget. They want your time/opinion. It is when they ask for money or some other commitment then worry. |

I am pretty good at sniffing out legit stuff. I googled the contact that was in the letter and she has a Linkedin account listing her with JD Power so it seems OK.
It says that there are only so many cars for a certain area so, being rural, I may not get the opportunity but figured I would throw the hat in the ring anyhow. I will let you all know if I get to flog something cool or even uncool. C'mon Chevy, let's see what you got!
