Pictures of your ABS interrupt switch install

Anyone got any pictures of how they installed their ABS interrupt switch? This would be the switch that you can flick to create a fault in the ABS system so it's immediately turned off. I'd like to find a nice switch for this purpose that looks factory.

Here's my first version, since this post I moved the switch to the top of the dash.

Depending on the bike there should be a blank spot on the right side switch cluster you could put a switch in same place where the euro headlight on off switch is located.

That would be a very good place but I just picked up a euro switch cluster with the headlight switch because if the HID headlight. I was almost thinking of using the original switch cluster and using the kill switch for the abs disable switch. It would look DEFINITELY factory. I wonder if I can wire the start button to turn on the driving lights

I still want to keep my ABS system for on-road riding but I absolutely HATE being offroad, coming to a stop, turning off the bike to talk to someone, having to start the bike, roll forward a few feet, hold down the button for 5 seconds and THEN go. SUCKS!

Uhhhh, I think this thread needs more PICTURES people!

Running the wires

In action:

A GREAT real-world mod. I can turn it off on the fly at anytime, and can turn it ON without putting my feet down if I'm careful (Pull in clutch lever - kill switch off - kill switch on - starter button - RIDE!).

How long you must push it to turn off the ABS? Where did you connected the button to?

Mine main issue is that if I had to make emergency slide somewhere I will not be able to do it because the ABS will not allow me to slide the rear wheel and take down (on the ground) the bike to one side.

my dash

I added the little aluminum dash so I'd have a place to park switches... first occupant is the ABS interrupt. Heated grips go in this week. Third spot will likely be for Rigid Dually lights... I may need to make a new plate depending upon switch sizes but that part is easy (I have a little bandsaw for metal that my uncle the machinist made me, rips thru aluminum like nothing).

The top of the handlebar clamps had a small lip around the bolt but I'm good with a file... and have good files. I do jewelry for a hobby. So I marked and filed the top of the clamps flat so the aluminum dash plate would sit flush.

That is a very clean install! Nice. Is that switch waterproof?

these switches are NOT waterproof
I have the same switch on my 450 and got soaked in the rain once
the turn signals were lighting up at 1/2 power from the water in switch
I will have to replace it with something better
for now I just disconected them

You are correct, they are not the waterproof ones - yet. That one has no appreciable current through it so I wasn't too worried.

As I move to lights and/or heated grips, waterproof becomes a much bigger issue.
