All of you guys that are thinking back to the 1930's, and think Indian has such a great performance heritage that should be focused on with the new bikes are just dreaming.
When the general public, and the typical potential customer thinks of Indian they think of full fenders, and fringed saddlebags.

Harley probably has a greater performance heritage, with more race wins on the dirt ovals and road courses.

Correct. And they figured out chasing the trophys costs a shitload of money, whereas building what their customers want generates a shitload of money while costing less to develop. Obviously their customers don't really care who makes the fastest bike.

My point is that the blather about Indian's performance heritage is not important. By the time they died, they didn't have a factory presence in racing anyhow.

You remember the Destroyer, I'm sure. A factory drag bike available from your dealer in 2007.

They don't endorse, like, or appreciate ANY unauthorized employee foreshadowing about upcoming products, even if the specifics are not divulged. They want control over that, and seeing a prospective employee engaging in this will make them question his ability to keep his mouth shut about future products and trade secrets. If he doesn't have the job yet and they figure out who he is, he won't get the job.

We had a recent motorcycle show here over the weekend. The Indian booth was very popular. I remember sitting on a motorcycle, but I could not tell you now which model Indian it was, but it smelled nice
