When it comes to dirt bikes I don't get the point of a 4 stroke when it only takes 2 to get the job done.
So to that I'd say either 300 will do.

You paying an attorney by the hour to put that deal together? You been working on that one for a long time! And, yeah, GoFasters has been awesome to work with re: GG parts. Plus you get to hang a poster of LuLu Puy and Liai Sanz in your garage. Go Gas Gas!

I bought my 09 wr300 from Taskys. 2 years later and 2000 ish miles later still on its original piston with same compression. Doesnt miss a beat and never left me anywhere, easy as pie to work on, cheap. The harder I beat it up the stronger it seems to run.
Oh and it came with a plate.

All good bikes.
I agree with whether to get 2stroke or 4 stroke, then go from there. Definitely Taskys if he is close enough for you - good service and sales. I like my Husaberg but a 2 stroke would probably have been a better choice. Also consider a Christini - 2WD is great and you can get them pretty much on a number of good platforms (GasGas, Honda, KTM, etc.).

I don't think you can go wrong with a 300 2 smoke.300 KTM is probably the best bike I've ever ridden. You can't go wrong with one of the local dealers too.

Wish I liked used vehicles as this would prove way too easy. T

Check out the dealers you want to buy from and see what the parts situation is for the model you want. Do they do their work in house or farm it out. I have a GG trials bike and it takes a while to get parts. A friend of mine has a new[13] 300 XCW and the starter took a ah.. quit working. Seems there is a nylon bearing in the starter that went out.
He went from a 08 250/300XC W to a 12 350 XC W and back to a 13 300. Good luck
