Be careful out there guys
This just happened to my best buddy going to Sturgis.
http://www.rawlinstimes.com/news/loc...9bb2963f4.html He's strong as a bull and mentally doing fine. We keep saying it could have been much worse. Can't fathom how he kept the bike straight, ride for 1000 feet, come to a stop and then with help bind his own missing foot to stop blood flow. If anybody has any lawyer suggestions in Wyoming,... would be helpful. The witnesses say there was no car on the truck's lane that he claims he veered from. |

A semi truck took off his foot?!?!
![]() how the hell did he only come away with that injury!? That's amazing and yes strong as a bull to be able to keep it together enough to administer basic medical help to himself.....glad he is more or less ok. and yes I know of a few lawyers....but only in LA

removed as per suggestion of other inmates (thank you) to keep details until case is closed. It sound like it was the foot board of the truck that cut his left foot above the ankle.
I have some lawyers here too but it seems like they might have to be in Wyoming,...either way id like to have their contacts if you would pass them to me pasta. mac inger screwed with this post 08-11-2012 at 05:12 PM |

Man, that's horrific....and too bad! Kudos to your friend for keeping his head and being cool in the face of all that! I'm curious and mean no disrespect but have some questions: What bike was he riding? Did he have a passenger? Also, curious if you've talked to him.....why wasn't he able to see events unfolding and maneuver away from the truck that, I assume crossed the line? Very best wishes to him and I know it must be painful for you as well! Sorry, I used to live in Sheridan, WY but don't know any attorneys anymore except the name Burgiss, which used to be a big name in Sheridan.

Again, best wishes to him and you. The attorney is Sheridan was "Henry Burgiss" Have no idea if he's still in practice, but suspect he is....or his office is still there. No idea if he does accident work, but his firm was major when I lived there. Best Wishes to you and your friend! Please let me know how it works out.

I guess Marko is becoming a celebrity. Movie deal next
![]() this is the kind of emails hes getting : We heard about the accident, and we hope you recover okay. We have a going bet on the kind of foot you're going to replace it with. So far the favorite is a heavy, cast iron boot with spikes, so you can kick even more asses with more force than ever. And if a truck ever hits your foot again, it will hurt the motherfucking truck. Anyways, attached is my facebook tribute. We're not facebook buddies, so this was the only way I could think to show it to you. Best, ![]() |

This whole situation is so....wierd! I'm still baffled at how your buddy didn't have time to react/evade. Let's face it: 18 wheelers don't "dart" into your lane. Even if the truck took half of your buddy's lane....there's still half left, not to mention the ditch! I'm not familiar with that stretch of road, so I need to be forgiving in my comments. Wondering how your lawyer search is going? Wish I could be of more help there. If Burgiss didn't work out, let me know. I have some close friends still in WY and can ask them to help. Best Wishes to both of you!!

I'm also curious why this thread isn't getting more attention? I actually think that comment from "whoever" is well, less than helpful. While this guy may be strong, resolute, "an animal" in most ways.....losing your damn foot has to hurt! And has to have some effect on you. Again, Best Wishes to you both!

We found a lawyer. So that is good. Somebody in the regional forums also recommended an othopedic hospital so we will try that also.

287 between Fort Collins & Laramie is a dangerous hunk of road. I hear about fatalities on it all the time.
From Wikipedia: The section of US-287 between Fort Collins, Colorado and Laramie, Wyoming carries very heavy truck traffic and is regarded as quite dangerous. Your buddy is one tough MoFo. Hope he comes out of it well. |
