01302013 - Trujillo, Honduras
Continued riding the Carribean Coast of Honduras. Currently in Trujillo, a town which is near the spot where Christopher Columbus first touched the American mainland. The 150 mile ride from Tela was the most potholes I have seen so far this trip (one even was filled with miniature sandbags about football size) and most police and military checkpoints (13).
![]() Planning for this trip, I obtained a no fee debit card from Charles Shwab Bank. Came across the first bank (Banco Atlantida) in Central America that did not charge a fee. ![]() Tela coast - ![]() Trujillo lining up for healthcare ![]() Trujillo coast - ![]() Trujillo - street view through cafe window.

02062013 San Jose Costa Rica
When passing through San Jose, Costa Rica. Don't hesitate to stop by BMW Costa Rica. Needed 6000 service and a new set of tires. I contacted Adolfo yesterday and he scheduled me in today. Alex is the tech who worked on my moto and did a really professional job. Total time in the shop was approx 3 hours.
![]() Also found the coolest hotel/hostal in San Jose. Casa Colon. best place I ahve stayed at so far this trip.

Costa Rica
Just returned from seven days on rental bikes in CR, our fifth trip down there. If you like ceviche you've got to go to Cocorones in the town of Montezuma and get an order of their White Marlin. It's on the Nicoya Peninsula and reachable from San Jose via a ferry. The dirt road north from there to Samara is a great ride especially on a GS--a handful of water crossings to spice it up. The town of Samara is another great place to hang out for a while.
