Another flash flood warning in effect. Route 5 was closed last night because of people's lawns in the road up by Barton.

Mrs Trip and I are in Newport tonite. We've been in VT for 4 days, and have gotten rained on every afternoon. It's like the rainy season in Costa Rica here.

Yup. It's been a tad moist. I wouldn't recommend making square bales.

Another pre-run done with Crazy Ivan. I told Anton I was under the weather, and was only up to riding the KLR on some mellow stuff. Got back just around dark completely thrashed. It's a good thing that the KLR has a "tractor mode" where one can just plunk it in first and ride slowly -- watching the temp gauge rise the whole time. I was towing the Moto-Mule in test mode, and we rode some significant double track. Let it be noted that I've been told I should rest and do no heavy lifting. OK, so I have't done heavy lifting. If there is a Fall 2013 RedNEK, it's going to be primitive camping, wipe yer own arse, cook your own eats and the lot. We found a couple of great free camping areas today. Should be a good one.

Tim, I was thinking with "stomach ailment" you'd gotten some of those nasty norovirus bugs, but it sounds more serious. Hope all mends up well and soon.

on recon and getting out for a ride. We've actually got a stretch of forecasted weather down over my way that does not include an afternoon thunderstorm or three for a change... hope you get some of the same up that way.

It's diverticulitis, Rich. I tend to have a flare-up during the best part of the riding season about every year. If I had known what a PITA it was, I would have eaten more fiber and chosen better genes.
