Latest Dispatch 1 feature release

Wanted to let the forum know that version 1.2 of the Dispatch 1 software has been released and includes a suite of cool new features.

First, we've now included the ability to change the pulse width modulation for the 4 variable outputs from a 1 second time slice to a 1/256 second time slice. This is something that you can easily change using a new setup screen and while it won't change how the variable outputs work in driving heated clothing, it does have a dramatic effect in how they work if you use them for auxiliary lighting.

Using the 1 second (standard) time slice, you can adjust the pulse width from 1/32 to 32/32 of a second. When driving lights, this causes lights to modulate...something that a number of our users like.

Now you can change the pulse width time slice to 1/256 of a second, again with 32 linear steps from full off to full on. In this mode the D1 effectively performs as a dimmer, again something a number of our customers have asked for.

So, as with everything in our system, the choice of how to configure is completely up to you.

The second new feature is the ability to designate any combination of the 4 variable outputs as switched outputs. This change was made in response to customer inputs for those folks who don't need 4 10 amp variable outputs, and would prefer to designate one or two of those outputs for additional switched (rather than variable) outputs.

In order to accommodate this requirement we added a new setup screen that allows you to pick which of these circuits you would like to be switched. Once you make the selection, a simple tap on either the red or blue buttons will immediately advance the "thermometer" for that circuit to full on or full off.

The third new feature is the ability to further customize how circuits that are designated to be live when your bike is shut down are eventually shut down. In our last software release we added the capability to not only designate any combination of circuits as being live when the bike was shut down, but also caused the system to automatically shut these ports down if the bike voltage dropped to 1 volt under the user-set alarm voltage level.

Well, now we've gone one better in creating a new setup screen that allows you to set a time-based port shutdown with a range of 1 minute to 120 minutes. Again, this can be set for each port individually, so you could designate a USB port for charging your phone for 120 minutes while allowing a light to be on only 15 minutes. The possibilities are endless.

As always, software upgrades for existing Dispatch 1 customer are free!

I've been reading up on this amazing gadgets hub on webbikeworld, and it says the unit must be returned to you for the software update, is there no way to do this via email?

At the moment it must be returned to the factory. As our dealer network expands, we will likely get some dealers set up with the required equipment and training. The good news is that we don't expect any additional software updates for quite a while as our "feature set" is fairly complete at this point.

Yes it is. Yes, both the LCD and the control buttons are backlit.

Installed and love it. One problem I have is that the hardwired temperature sensor is too short.

Can I easily splice into this and extend it? Please advise!
