Camping along the M18 from Saint-Petersburg to Murmanks

Hey Guys,

I'm planning a trip to Murmansk, starting in Finland.

I'm planning to camp along the M18.
Does anyone have experience in camping along that road?
How safe is it, and what precautions should I take.

Hey Wim

In 2011 I took the same road and camped along. I didn't have any problems and would say you wont have any either. The only precaution I took was that nobody saw me riding into the forest for my campsite. But that's only for good sleep. Actually, quite a few people are camping there, both with and without motos.

When will you be there? I'm heading in this direction again this summer.

Thanks for the reply, I read your report... You're quite famous :-)

I will not be for this year... It will be for 2015, I need to save some money first, and I have other priorities (read kids ;-) ) now...

Anyway, I started reading some books and begun with the planning in January..

Anyway, I have a Buell XB right now, another bike is also on the list, so that I can carry some luggage, which I really can't right now
