HOT Grips Control

Got these for Christmas last year and the fusible link in the harness took a crap on me over the weekend. I have a Warm and Safe single Heatroller that I never hooked up. Think I am going to take the chessy toggle switch that came with the Hot Grips off and use this instead.

Are there any problems I should be aware of?

Did similar with a pair of Oxford grips. Worked much better using a Heat Troller than the original controller.

Are you talking about the Hot Grips VHC (variable heat controller)? If so, how did it work for you?

I bought one, installed it Saturday, and it just plain won't work. Oddly enough, if I put a LED in series with the controller, I get it to light no matter what position the controller is on, including off. However, the grips never get enough power to warm, even on the highest setting. This thing has me baffled.

Did you wire them in parallel or in series? Hotgrips wants them in parallel; could you have wired them incorrectly? I had plenty of heat on my old ones.

Definitely wired them in parallel. I already had them in parallel before with a simple switch in place and that worked fine. I shot an email to Hot Grips over the weekend but haven't heard back.

Sent from the voices in my head and transcribed by their drinking buddy...
