IndyCar 2015 OFFICIAL thread

We could talk about aero kits. I guess. They're new this season and may be a big differentiating factor.

But how about listening to Chip Ganassi's underground wind tunnel -- that's actually a tunnel? You've probably read about it before, but maybe you hadn't heard it. I hadn't.

Here's a Q&A on the new aero kits.

A quick overview: Honda and Chevy are each making them for their own teams, there will be kits for each type of track, the cars will be differentiated, teams can change their set-up between qualy and race, and the kits can, to a degree, be upgraded over the course of the next two years.

that tunnel is about a mile from my inlaws place, I'm up there every weekend skiing, gonna have to go snoop around and check it out!! I've ridden down to it years ago while exploring the local dirt roads.

Let's hope it's a better circuit than that Sao Paulo thing, with its incessant Turn 1 crashes and weird surface.

Yeah, bummer. The district government withdrew its funding amid general budget problems. Shame, the race itself seemed to be in great shape, with a title sponsor, 2/3 of seats already sold, 100-thousand people expected and track construction moving apace.

It slices, it dices, it makes julienne fries...

Looks like a rolling godzillacar abomination. If the formula requires that type of aero joke, then it's all kinds of wrong.

At least the Honda kit looks like there was some thought put into it as opposed to Chevy's kit that looks like they duct taped a few winglets onto it.

God, that looks stupid!

http://www.roadandtrack.com/motorspo...de-comparison/

Side by side comparison of the Chevy and the Gillette.

Not much different from the Formula One cars of just a few years ago with their multi element wings. Sure a lot better looking than Chevy's effort. I think it looks exciting myself.
