Coma would have changed this race...

What we saw in Cyril's last year at the mud flow was a pannick attack for worry about Coma. Cyril would have been in way deeper muck when he lost his motor this year if Coma was in the race.

I'm sure there would have been many more motor changes. Remember the mechanical issues at the later stages of last year? That was because Despres and Coma were having a go at each other.

Despres is able to relax a bit and loose his game face a little more.

And you simply can't ignore his amazing talent and command he has in this racing format. He set the pace this year and had total control even with an engine change.

5'25" behind today's winner Francisco Lopez, Cyril Despres has finished second. Paulo Gonçalves occupies third place, 5'29" behind Chaleco, followed by Juan Pedrero Garcia, 7'42" behind the Chilean, and Joan Barreda, 8'24" behind the stage winner. Olivier Pain, who was in a close fight for sixth place in the general standings with Frans Verhoeven, maintains his advantage seeing as he finished 8th almost 17 minutes ahead of the Dutchman.

With Chaleco opening and Despres following, looks like tomorrow's stage will be the familiar game of cat & mouse we have seen in previous years from Cyril & Marc.

All Cyril has to do is catch Chaleco and stay on his tail for about 130kms of timed Special...

Still, the Chilean must be stoked with 2nd place, what a comeback after his horrible luck all these years, not to mention that terrifying accident. Maybe, as there has been all this talk of recruiting into Factory KTM, Chaleco also has the proper passport after all? Just a thought

Question More coverage

I am thinking about putting together a kickstarter to see if people would be interested in funding some people to go down and cover the rally on the ground. I am a photographer and it is my dream to cover something like this. I would love to talk to people who have done this sort of thing before, or talk to people who may be interested in it.

At the very least I would love to talk to some people about this as a possibility.

I tried to post earlier, but it didn't seem to work.
