He'll be at WP4 and the ASS soon enough.
My fear is that he may be pushing it, the bike that is... And HE WOULD.

So in my capacity as factory team strategist, all I have to do in future is enter a factory team of - say - SIX riders... Two Aliens one fast assist waterboy and three (lets call them drones) who have STRICT FUCKING INSTRUCTIONS TO RIDE AT TRAILRIDE PACE (minimum required to avoid houring out on the sweeper truck... but get the pecious "donor engines" to the bivouac each night) and are there more or less in the capacity to transport donor powerplant components from bivouac to bivouac. Theoretically a factory rider could use three or four powerplants during the rally - win - not get a time penalty and be considered to have finished on an "original engine"?
No, both Despres and Dabrowski got a 15' penalty for the swap in the marathon bivouac - and Dabrowski got another 45' for getting a fresh one on rest day.

Seeing Cyril swap an engine in the dust in the marathon bivouac was a perfect example of the Dakar spirit for me.

The only fishbone in the throat for me is that I think I saw Dabrowski with penalties BEFORE the first engine swap, so it could be he was on a rather fresh engine when they swapped. But it's possible that this was my error.

I knew I'd read that somewhere.

On iphone, trying expand the screen would make the page think you wanted to select a rider. Couple that with stages with more than 3 wp's made getting to see the data... Challenging.

But otherwise, I didn't see a problem. If you could disable that coding, I think it would work fine as is.

Maybe someone with an android widget could comment?

How awesome would it be if the ASO announced that they needed competitor volunteers to go tow Luis in... Let's get that guy in!

FAIR ENOUGH!

As a result of my somewhat sporadic f5 cyber involvement this year - in a moment of noddy like inattention earlier - I failed to take into account for the fact that Despres DID incur a 15 minute penalty for the engine "swap"... so my parallel drawn - that he could go thru the entire event on multiple engines - without penalty was an incorrect assumption.

see what happens when you don't give the f5irehose your complete attention?

In either case, the KTM team knew the rules, played them to best advantage and went away with the spoils...

congratulations to KTM and X-Raid on two thoroughly professionally executed DAKAR campaigns... both dominated their respective categories.

Can F5 contact a competitor and suggest they go back?
