Confusing. Today seemed to confirm my theory that Faria has been released of watercarrier duty. But at the finish line today he says we'll have to wait for CD tomorrow??? If we wasn't released why did they let him ride loose two stages?? Weird.

On the alleged Marathon - pit stops at the refuelling points??? WTF?? El Dakaro is OK, the race is on, 450's are great, blah blah blah. But this is not right. It's plain stupid.
Perhaps the duties are more tactical than the perceived follow up support, which he also now has with Coma missing

. . . or cup smaller. We have no idea how big the cup is. The f5 might be as big as the official number plate sticker for all we know.

i think KTM were worried CD might not claw back the time and wanted at least one capable rider to be as close to the front as possible, Now Cyril is back in striking range , return to normal duties for Ruben.

CAnt seem to pull the results that a team is looking for, but he's got my vote.
Baja champ over 450 cc only his Husi - Husaberg pulled Rally budget, although I don't believe they gave him much.

He got his Dakar bike as a gift just before Le Harve scrutineering, can't recall the history of it but it's been there before - his blog site is here

He did this with support from Husaberg (head office) and the Husaberg Australia Rally Team (support for the Oz Safari rally 2011 and 2012) always on the Husa 450 FE, modified for rally use (not a designated Rally model... like KTM have).

In August/September of 2012 Husabergs parent company (KTM) made the coprporate decision to no longer support rally program with the Husaberg brand... husaberg being a designated "Enduro" product for the concern. This also coincided with the discontinuation of the 70 degree sloper engine configuration husabergs (390/450/570) with the 2103 model becoming derinatives of the KTM engine/chassis package... in a blue/yellow livery and model specific suspension specifications, being the main difference to the KTM range.

With that Manuel was left with no Husaberg ride (the opossibility to use a 2012 privateer spec bike as he did the year prior was perhaps an option... I dunno?) but at an 11th hour benefactor deal, manny was able to secure the TM 450 Rallye that his is competing on...
Ha ha - see that's what happens when you comment before catching up

It'll be a crying shame if that true.

On a nother note the South African riders were saying the Calama bivouac (today) was by far the worst so far. It was described as "bivouac in the middle of a field of fesh fesh". Dust everywhere, a lot of wind. Everyone wearing goggles, and no one able to eat because the food was full of sand.

Positively delightful. Still want to do the Dakar?

Thanks guys.
I'm probably 30 pages late to this (desperately trying to keep ahead of the sweep truck), but VLC can also be used to transcode & repack to other containers/formats as well, check the docs or google it.

Is SBS carrying the Dakar coverage this year? If so, check on their site for the Dakar app. I got the Tour de France app through SBS because the "official" one was geolocked. Same app, but I think the broadcasters may have rights in their region. Dakar may be the same way.
