Maybe becquse the stage was so short and fast they didnt see the advantage of keeping the WC in reserve. Practically a sprint, so let the dogs out

I also think that with the entire field being with a few minutes of each other, the big c can still face 20 minutes at this almost half way point and not be in panic mode
