Kudos to your girlfriend!
I would do that for my man in a heartbeat. Although I would want to be on a bike too.

after a 14hr work day...3hours to catch up (I did cheat and lurk on the iphone, thanks Doyle, Flood and PM for the tweets)
thanks F5 for keeping the hose going...you are costing me zzzs

I too miss Meoni
RIP Tomas Bourgin

Pat, Pyn and Mani

wow wow Caselli!

Did we ever find out who was the pillow sponsor for tonight?

Oh and I find it pretty funny that ASO controls the rights to usage of a name of a town,
I mean how to the true Dakarisians feel about not being able to post up a FB page titled Dakar's Best Restaurants...

Another work marathon for me tomorrow, so keep to hose and the tweets going

many thanks

That will be interesting court case.
It seems extreme until digging a bit deeper. A sensible person at Twitter would look to see what the content for DakarDingbit before terminating the account, but not all the world is sensible.

I can see their grievance with @DakarRallyRaid as a handle though - at first glance it might read as the official event source. They will want to maintain control over the official feed for good reason, case in point is the death of Thomas Bourgin.

Pyndon's call from the Bikers' Bivouac. Sorry for the delay, tending to family duties.

Lyndon calls in after the first of two marathon stages (bikes spend the night in their own bivouac, no assistance crews for the duration of two consecutive days). It was a rough day for him, both physically/health, and mechanically on the bike, which luckily can be considered his first setbacks of the rally. It was also an emotional day, as a moto competitor was killed on the liaison to the start of the special. Godspeed, Thomas Bourgin.

No kidding.

I'm a little shocked one of them hasn't contacted Baldy to shut this place down. Which of course, would be the most stupid thing imaginable. And totally predictable.

What they don't know is this disease can be very contagious. Just like that they will start lurking around ADV, trade in their road bikes for dual sports, join a couple group rides, take a Neduro clinic, and who knows maybe even race the Baja or the Dakar one day. Or maybe their spouses will put an end to it all, before it even begins.

And so the family grows.

They may not have liked the content, but they've made it very clear that no accounts may be named with the word "Dakar" set up. As far as flagrant contravention a twitter account "@DakarRallyRaid" is about as big a red flag as could be had.

Just as when Dorna made Kropotkin change the name of MotoGPMatters.

Lyndon once again going above and beyond.

Emotions of loosing a fellow rider
Altitude sickness
Bike challenges
Cold and wet
Dust
No crew.

He still takes the time to give all of us a call. He needs a good night sleep. He also needs a good day tomorrow. He did not sound disappointed at all the first special was cancelled

As much as we spectators are disappointed by special cancellations or shortening, I've yet to hear a competitor complain about it when it happens a week or more into the rally.

Hahaha, exactly what I was thinking. My texting while driving in the pouring rain was the least dangerous aspect of my commute.

I'm actually pleased. In my pursuit to make enough money for next years Dakar....I normally work from home, but actually have to leave the house tomorrow afternoon. Hoping all the good stuff and riders in before I have to leave. But gotta to train a new distributor working with me. Need the funds!
