Lyndon maybe could ride as fast as the fast guys IF he just follows and they are navigating AND if his bike can keep up. He has little to loose if he keeps his risk assessment right (which he seems to manage quite well). What I am wondering is if he has his decision already made or if he'll see how it goes during the stage.

The monitor shows a quirky list of riders who are not yet past CP1. The starter list is correct on the normal tracker.

Nooo - it wouldn't and didn't - the actual stage 8 finishing positions with penalties applied to the stage 9 start. so Pyn will be/is off 9th

Yes, he's in a race. But his instincts are not about the racing part of it, and those will dominate, I think.

And if he got bounced back into the pack (not sure yet on the timing boards), then this discussion is moot.

Starting positions were all over the place but seem to be sorting themselves out at WP1/CP1.

I think he will have a crack for a while to see what it is like, but he doesn't seem the sort of guy who will risk coming off rather than finishing within his own capabilities
