Not to bash the Japanese, when they get it right, they get it very right. But certainly not known for listening to a rider's opinion on how the bike should be built or how a team should be run. Stubborn does not even begin to describe it. Hence the frustration of having a 4-5 times world champ who has witnessed how a winning team should be run, trying to gather results within a competely different operating structure.

Just playing devils advocate...

Maybe they (hrc) will benefit. By hiring Cyril they aren't only buying a podium they also buy his mentoring the rest of the team. Maybe he brings some of the support with him. His knowledge of how a team can be run, very valuable.

HRC did seem to listen to the riders in the bike development phase,or so insider info has led us to believe.

Personally,I don't see Cyril leaving the orange team....

Verhaal in bivak gaat dat David Casteu heeft opgegeven. Heb daarvan nog geen bevestiging op de fax gezien
Not surprised, remember it was a dislocated shoulder that put Paul Jay out on day two

And Craig Bounds in 2011 for that matter.

At the moment I am with Deadly in this one, unless of course you provide a better point . Money talks in this businees big time and with KTM not so secure, financially speaking, it may be a better deal to go somwhere where when you ask for a gearbox that must be bulletproof, you get three million Japanese people banging their heads in the gears to make sure they will survive
Add to that the 2015 injection restrictions, and you get a pretty good idea that by 2017 KTM may struggle to stay in. It is sad, i dont like it, but I think it will happen.
As far as the winner is concerned, may be they were not ready this year, but I am sure next year they will be on the podium and start advertising the new 450Rally as they did back in the Transalp and Africa 650 days.... back to the roots etc

a bit off-course to cars:
four X-Raid cars in top 5 overall including Pendejo on fifth
Chinese (Germany made / French prepared) Great Wall on sixth
and then four 2WD buggies to complete Top 10
Al-Attiyah seems to be out, or at least out of the top
Gordon moving into best 20
