Public Radio fundraising notice:

Last year, through the generosity of the listeners, we were able to cover the cost of Neduro's phone bill for the communication costs to RallyRAIDio and ADVRider throughout the Dakar. If you've enjoyed Lyndon's call ins and interviews on this edition, consider chipping in a few $$, € €, or ££ toward the cause. Many hands make light work, and based on our experience with Ned last year, the tab will run handily into 4-digit territory (sans decimals). It would be wonderful if we could take this burden off of Lyndon's shoulders.

RallyRAIDio @ g mail . com is the RallyRAIDio email addy to which funds can be sent.

Thanks for your support.

Great report back from Lyndon and truly glad he enjoyed the "experience" - so pleased for him - let's just hope is get's to the end, but it's looking good -

Sadly, it all comes down to $s. Just couldn't pull it off this year, but business is doing better and working towards it.

A question for those in the know.

What are the rules regarding tires on bikes? Do they have to be F.I.M. approved? Or is it whatever you want to run?

Ok, a woman contacted us and said (per translation)

"Guys, a group of people escorted 150, a bit hastely and doing everything possible so that he arrives. My husband was among them with an orange KTM. We´re from Luján Pcia de Bs As. Those who have connections with the riders, also have the Dakar spirit, right? I talked to him recently and he told me this"

We do not know her, but she sent me that message and posted it on Luis' facebook wall too. More to add to rumors tonight.

Will be watching tracking like a hawk. Pray don't have iritrack issues tonight to make the wait even longer and more stressfull!
Skimming, trying to catch up on a lost day, so forgive me if it's already been posted. Don't put any stock in the tracking tonight. At a certain point, ASO stop updating the site. The only confirmation, short of direct communication, will likely be whether he is shown taking his start time tomorrow morning.

Probably the only consolation, if there is any, is that this problem was much worse back in Africa!

EDIT: Glad to catch up and see that he's made it in!!!

Goooooo Luis and Laia!

Took a bit, but caught up.

No, I did NOT see any snooker!

Sad for Casteau, I figured that cow incident might have been worse than first expected.

Awesome that Luis made it in!! (at least I think so). If not GO LUIS!

I have not heard if Laia made it in yet? If not GO LAIA!!!

Another great call-in by Pyndon!

ToKo! Nice to have you back.

Shame about Jan.

Looks like this buggy above has had a rough go of it. They were the ones featured stuck in the mud on Stage 8, no?

This video is really worth watching!

Somebody (apparently Jaroslav Jindra looking at the youtube name) did a great job on this video. It's mostly really good footage of the motorcycle riders:

People need to wise the F*ck up about spectating positions. What unnecessary tragedy would it be for that little girl to get rolled over by a race vehicle? Outside of a corner is not the place to be, folks.

THAT would be awesome news!!

Let's hope the Freedom boys can get the bike back together for the morning.
