Also, Caselli doesn't have much left in his career in America (needs to win SCORE and then what's left?), I could imagine that he wants a Dakar paycheck in the future. Opening/ winning will be the key ingredient in that job offer.

I had the chance to open a bunch at the Raid d'l'Amitie in Morocco (totally different/ lesser level of event) but it gave me a flavor for how intense it is to second guess yourself on nav, knowing there were lots of people bearing down from behind. It is a completely different ball of wax to following, and that must be amplified times 1000 at Dakar.

Caselli is living minutes he'll remember forever right now, if he were just to stick with Cyril and win, he would have missed that chance.

I don't think that news flash meant that Helder was actually IN....I think it was referring to his WP6 times and being in 2nd at that point.


...still don't see any times for him at 7 or ASS....
