Pretty sure the Mazda Speed 3 does as well. THAT thing is a little missile, it weighs like 9 pounds and has a turbo. A friend of mien has one, I manged to break the front wheels loose at 35-40mph in 2nd gear accelerating off an on ramp |

The Speed 3 gets pretty low mileage in use, something like 19 mpg.

This is for a middle age woman to drive as a daily work car. No Speed 3, STi, or even focus ST need to apply. Didn't make it out to the VW store today. Still wondering if they would be a nightmare to try to own for 200K miles. Whatever we buy now will most likely be my kids first car in 3 & 5 years time. The four ford dealers I contacted send me three emails a day. And they wonder why I didn't give them a good phone number?

I will echo prev remarks. Check out the 3. We put 65k on ours in 2.5 yrs before trading it in on a larger car. Got good mpg and fun to drive. The current models front styling is meh however.

while i like the gti i think the chances of it making 200k trouble free miles is maybe 3 in 10. The tacoma feels like 9 in 10 so if reliability is the main issue honda or toyota

Chose a 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe from the rental lot for this trip.
Pros Best attribute of this vehicle is the stereo 34 MPG if you're a dork that gets fully torqued by that Haven't driven a 4 cylinder in 15+ years, 80 mph cruise control was a complete surprise Cons The worst seats ever A LOT of buttons Buzzy 4 banger in town Zig zags down the road like an ADD kid on crack Did I mention it has a lot of buttons Never again and not looking forward to the trip back. Wishing I'd picked the tried and true Avalon Touring for this 3 hour highway trip, all in the spirit of learning. Have a good life Hyundai.

YMMV, don't believe everything you read on the internet.
