swingarm / center of wheel

Is the swingarm (990 adventure) symmetrical? Thus the center of the rear wheel/rim should be exactly in the middle between the swingarm or the hub with the spacers?

Been riding for +3 years now with an off center rear wheel, going to get it fixed but need to be sure

i dont think so. Every hub I've laced has a off set to one side, face of hub to edge of rim measurement

Ask woody in the vendors section, he does a brazilian of those a week, he can probably even tell you the offset

I'm not sure what you are measuring for center, but I went out and checked the rim centering on the swingarm and it appears to be about 1.5 inches on both sides. Of course the left side has the plastic chain guard on it so the measurements are approximate. That's the rim to the inside of the swingarm.

950 Adventure no wheel work ever done 'cept for tires of course.

Measuring from the bearing/seal flange on the center of the hub to the side of the rim. The flange is the part of the hub very near the seal on the brake side and near the bearing on the cush side, it sticks out about 2mm past the seal/bearing.

The rear wheel, without the cush drive, sticks 5mm further out on the left side.

The front wheel is the same on both sides.

If you build wheels, you need a dish gauge to check this.

I discovered that for the original rim (4,25") the offset should be 19mm. Measured from the outside of the disc to the side of the rim.
Based on that I can do the math for my 2,5" rim
