Spring Break on the Crooked River (Chimney Rock CG) March 28-31, 2013

March in Central Oregon!!
.....First camping trip of the year......
March 28-31, 2013; Chimney Rock CG, South-end Group Area.

Oregon's schools get out for Spring Break on this last week of March,
and some of us have decided that we need a break, too.
Anybody else need a break for fun in March? Come on down and add to the fun

This now 3rd annual event was first brought up by Oremike two years ago, and turned out to be a hoot.
Even though Oremike missed out last year, we had fun anyway (but hope to see you there this year?). I bet you miss that DR650 now, eh?

Be prepared for cold, be prepared for snow, but more importantly, be prepared for FUN!!!
We got ADVers from Bend, several from Portland, and even one hardy and brave soul from Wenatchee!! (even though he was afraid to sleep at water's edge )

South of Prineville is Hwy 27, heading down to the Prineville Reservoir,
.....is a nine mile section of BLM land designated as the Lower Crooked Wild & Scenic Riverwith 11 campgrounds with NO FEES before April 1st!!!!!!

Experience has determined that Chimney Rock CG is the best for our purposes.

Sweeet dirt-only roads.....

Good Friends and Campfire.......

....and just a little bit of what Petrolburner referred to as "Snow Pellets"

But, just watch out for what those snow pellets will do to the Central Oregon Poof-Dirt roads within mere moments...

OK, then......Who's IN????
Links to past years...

And certainly you mean Spring Brake you weasel.
I'll try to make it.

AJ, you forgot to mention the most important part: The nearest motel is only 17 mi. away.

Don't count on me to be there this year either. With all the stuff I've got going on right now there is virtually no chance I'll have my shit together in time for this. So have fun, take lots of pictures and make me wish I woulda, shoulda, coulda.

Pretty damned well, thanks. No permanent knee damage, excepting maybe some "feel"
5% left to heal, and looking Good
