I'm glad my plans changed unexpectedly this weekend. I don't know how it could have possibly been better for me. I needed that!

I took TONS of pictures. They're uploading now. Had a great ride with s1marks down Bridge Creek, Gosner Rd, Divide Rd, Cold Camp Rd. Just amazing. Then Antelope, Shaniko, Bakeoven, and home over the pass.

Life is good!

Everything about this weekend was awful The location, the people, the weather, the riding...all of it. Wish I was still there.

Well, OK, started working with them tonight. A few preliminary shots . . .

Painted Hills Unit, John Day Fossil Beds

Fort Rock, shot with the "LCC"--little crappy camera. It's kinda disposable so I don't mind messing with it while I'm riding.

Crack in the Ground. That's RockyRoad contemplating the "big jump!" Believe that's Easy-Z with him; MortimerSickle was checking out another crack (in the ground--you have a dirty mind!!) and S1mark was guarding the bikes.

Easter morning sunrise on the Crooked River.

Yes, that was probably us. We were on the north end at about that time, trying to figure out the best route back to 4 Corners as we, or at least I, was running low on fuel, and we absolutely and totally by mistake had managed to follow some single track off the OHV grid. I got schooled in some desert riding by a couple local boys. That's what one of 'em $800 hunks of alu bolted to the steering is for; I thought it was all for bling-show.

Thanks Munn and Jeff (from Sisters) for a great ride. Get in touch if you come up Hood River way for some wooded OHV riding.

Sorry I missed you all this weekend. The desert was calling. Only so many good days out there.
See you in Hells Canyon and the Apple Valley Rally!

HA! Good one - you guys sure hit the weather right, wish I could've made it but we have a trip planned next week and need to 'save' my bike for that.

Evidence.

I'm still trying to figure out what that strange bright light in the sky was (sun? Never heard of it.), but otherwise that was good fun. Thanks everybody for the good times and hospitality!
The few pics I took:

Squishy at overlook #1. It's steeper than it looks...

There's a loose rock on a several hundred foot cliff, so Squishy has to stand on it & demonstrate his surfing skills (while my height-fearing stomach turns)...

Squishy's bitchin' XR

My sexy Husa. I still love her even though she was a bitch this weekend.

Flowers in the desert.

Other random artsy bullshit.

That was a bruiser of a mug!

It was nice to meet you last stragglers and I'm kicking myself for not stopping in Saturday when my wife and I rode by. Oh well, next year for sure. Obviously great minds camp alike tho seeing how we picked the right place and right weekend without even knowing this event was happening... (We were literally one campground down stream...)
Looks like everyone had a blast!

Good photos Dave, here are a few of mine:

My camp set up, beautiful Crocked River in the background.

Clean bike.

Out for a Friday ride with Mat, Kent & Angela.

Look out point down to the river & camp grounds.

Plenty of cliff top look out points.

3 of us braved a very testing old 4X4 path up high on the hill, Prineville Res in the background.

Back down to camp, meeting with new arrivals & tellin stories.

A few more set ups.

Cookin dinner on 1 of the communal BBQ's.

The "old timers" shootin the shit.

At the Friday night camp fire at the rivers edge.

Warmth of the fire, good stories & spirits!

Saturday!

Saturday was another beautiful day, organizing who was riding where.

Ken, Dan & Gary.

Mat doing his 'Saturday (morning) Fever' rendition.

Dave & i went up to Millican OHV area again. Heading to the Staging area, with the 3 Sisters (i think) in the distance.

Dave (SuperD) on his new to him Husaburg 570.

At 1 of the look out points again...with a very dusty bike.

"Vista Point" lookout, down to the Prineville Reservoir , dam & Crooked River.

Dave.

Camp fire...duh!

Arhh, those of you that were there might remember who's who.

That's all the photos that i took. Sunday was mostly packing up camp & heading out, some of us later than others. A great get together, excellent weather, cool people, lazy dogs & a wonderful location to those of us who've been on the green side of Hood all winter.
Might even have to visit this area again before the summer is out.

Thanks to AJ & Shelly for making this an annual event.
