The Norton Empire Rally in N.Y. What a Norton blast! Tons of Snorts. Big fun. First ever I N O A/ NOC combined international rally. That's where I shot these photos I've posted in this thread so far. Let's keep 'em going.

Had the old girl out of the shop a couple of years ago, nice day, sat in the sun and did a little clean up. Serial number 102816, last batch Jan 1963. Bought from original owner, Zach Reynolds, who had it in his living room. All original and unrestored, motor has never been apart or out of frame, carburetor and magneto have never been off. Did take off the original Avons and put on some repop Dunlop triangulars several years ago for a track day.

Yes, a great looking bike but actually quite "old school" appropriate if you look again. This is based on an original (albeit highly modified) Commando and should not be confused with one of the new UK-built Nortons.

My 74 Norton was painted white by a guy who did a lot of work to it, a previous owner.

I'm vaguely toying with the notion of having it painted, possibly a metalflake paint job...

I love these things, except that this one doesn't look right without a pair of shocks. Monoshock thing just doesn't work (looks wise) for me on a Norton.

Yeah, great looking bike but even the "new" Nortons are using twin shocks.
