And yes, I used "shocking" very sarcastically. I'm amazed they print this dribble.
can-am spyder & trike segment is doing well to supply this group.

expect 2 wheel (self staying up - gyro, auto trans, enclosed unit) mini enclosed transportation "bikes" to grow & expand for commuting and mpg, not to mention the older crowd.

technology will provide safer solutions because mfg know the older crowd has $ to spend and still wants that bike riding sensation.

the $ is going to be spent by the mfg on bring in the younger crowd with better scoots and auto bikes and the older crowd with safer machines.

let's add to this most of the world is poor and a 125 motorcycle/scott is a family of 5 sole transport they can afford. people are trading bicycles for 2 wheel motored vehicles in huge #s. existing 125 owners are able to afford 250 and trading up. the small bike market is huge worldwide, but most who never travel outside the US fail to see that.

i see the younger generation being pulled into bikes via the new electric models (in addition to scooters) that represent clean technology (let's not digress how producing batteries is very dirty). they'll only get better with time and increased # of charging stations.

there are a companies few building them know, but if the other mfg. see them as something people want in large numbers you can bet they start producing them.
