New ralle moto rm2 steering damper
This is our new release, the RM2 steering damper.
![]() This new unit is unique in many ways, from the way it mounts to the bike to the way the adjusters give the rider a huge variety of settings for every type of terrain without getting complicated. Setting the RM2 is very easy to work out and adjust even on the run. First off, there is the 8 position adjuster which offers the same wide variety of dampening levels that the RM1 has, then we have the Return to Center adjustment which offers 6 different levels of dampening instead of just three currently on offer in the RM1 Model (M, D, C). The newest addition to the Ralle-Moto steering damper on the RM2 is our new HSi valve which stands for "High Speed impact valve", this new valve is like having a spare set of arms in the event of a hit to the front wheel that you don't see- the HSi valve is a speed sensitive valve that reacts when you dont! Our HSi valve is also unique in that it bleeds off very slightly once it reaches it maximum force, this stops the impact valve from locking the handlebars after an impact to the front wheel, it simply dampens out the impact then goes back to normal in the blink of an eye. As you can see both adjuster dials are now on the rider side of the handlebars making this damper very easy to adjust on the fly. The dials are clearly marked with engraved numbers. The shape of the dials makes for easy adjustment even with gloves on. The RM2 also has a very unique mounting system which enables it to fit under the handlebars and on the standard top triple clamp of the bike, it does need a handle bar riser of 20-30mm on most models but this can be with the risers you already have or with a genuine Ralle-Moto riser. Like many of our customers, we understand the importance of being comfortable and having your favourite handle bar position. When designing the new RM2, we took this into consideration. Now you can have the best of both worlds, you can keep your favourite handle bar risers and enjoy the benefits of a high quality steering damper.
Prices range from $645.00 to $695.00 AUD Available for - F800GS, R1200GS/GSA, F650 DAKAR and many more to come! For sales and more information go to www.rallemoto.com or email contact_us@rallemoto.com |

The prices are for the damper kit, the pics are of the damper mounted on the standard GS12 top triple clamp just to give an example of how they mount.
The bar risers are optional for the reason most of our customers have a set of risers already which they can use with this system insted of having to shelve them The actual price on the GS12 is $695.00 that includes shipping world wide and all the parts needed to fit the kit including a new steering stem bolt and bearing. |

Got mounting instructions available? Curious about the setup of your pivot point.

Which pivot point? where the linkage connects to the frame or where the damper body bolts to the top triple clamp? On the GS12 we were the first to come up with the idea and possibly still the only damper connecting the linkage down through the center stem bolt using a new custom bolt that has some drive dogs on top of it and a linkage barrell with the lugs on it to meet up with the stem bolt and make the connection. With all the other bikes we use a conventional linkage arm set up with a pin mount connected to the frame. With the new RM2 damper we have changed the way the damper mounts to the bracket as on the RM1 it has its mount holes on either side of the damper housing, but this in some cases makes it very difficult to make a damper that can mount under the handlebars like on the BMW 650 DAKAR, 04-07 GS12 and the GS1150 which have the handlebar mounts cast into the top triple clamp. What we have done is moved the damper mount holes out the front of the damper to make room for the handlebar lower clamps on most bikes allowing the damper to mount down under the bars and still leave most options open for handlebar risers. This is some pics of it mounted to the F800GS (the other pics are mounted to the 04-07 GS12 standard clamp.) ![]() We also have just got our new web site up and running last night. www.rallemoto.com |

Im trying to figure out how to order....does the kit for the F800GS include the risers? Does the riser double as the damper mount?
This looks real good! I want one now! |

Do you have to grind away any of the bike plastics for this one to fit properly?

We have the RM1 on our 2010 F800GS and it is probably the single best piece of gear we put on the bike. Very well made and works great.
I prefer the C setting anywhere from 3-7 ![]() ![]() ![]()

Are you going to be using BestRest in the USA for a distributor?

Paging Markone
If Mark returns, I would be interested in hearing how the RM2 compares to the Scotts dampener. rockinrog screwed with this post 01-05-2011 at 12:45 PM |
