I knew you'd try and get me on that, that's why I wrote SUB-forum!

But, back to the Grom - I have to say - I think Jerry is closer to predicting the future of this bike than y'all. As a retired lawyer (I know, I know ) I find it amazing the ad Honda put out. Every kid who hurts himself trying a stoppie or wheelie is gonna be suing - after all - that's what the Honda ad says to do. Now these folks might not WIN the lawsuit but it will certainly get to a jury.

But, it does look like a fun little bike. I'd love to see some racing leagues form up with them - a cheap way to get into the sport - but for street riding I just don't see it.

I hope I'm wrong. As someone posted in another thread - all competition is good for the small class bikes/scoots and would mean more models offered.

What I honest to dog can't understand is why Honda would offer the Grom on the US market but not the Cub. The Cub is the highest selling vehicle of all time, has all the tooling and R&D done and yet not available here.

In spite of the YouTube videos, I don't believe Honda will be buried in law suits with this bike. At least no more than any other sport bike they have ever sold. They have been selling motorcycles for a VERY long time and seem to have come out OK. Also, I am guessing that have a team of attorneys that approve everything they do from a liability stand point. Not really much different than car commercials with guys doing donuts, racing on mountain roads or spinning around inside a house like the Fiat commercial I referred to.

I am really glad Honda is not bringing the Cross Cub to the states. It would force me to choose between it and the Grom.

I'm still betting this will be a one year model. There is already a lot of anti sport bike sentiment in this country. In my area, they are becoming the new outlaws. Out with the Hells Angels, sport bike riders are now the ones to be afraid of. They also tend to ride in large groups, and at speeds a Harley rider can only dream about. They also crash a lot, while Harley riders don't. They have become the new rebels, the new social misfits. And now Honda comes out with a new street legal stunt bike aimed mostly at teenagers. And the video that comes with it. While most adults take such things for what they are, teenagers tend to take things literally. Much teenage violence has been blamed on their video games, music, and movies, which would have no such effect on a mature responsible adult.

Want to make some money for your kids or grandkids? Buy one or more of these things, and store them away carefully. In a few decades they will be collectors items.

As for the Cross Cub, I actually like that. I wish Honda would make, say, a 250cc version big enough for someone like me to ride. Or else a 250cc sized scooter with a manual transmission. I really like scooters, not so keen on CVT transmissions.

my bandit must be a motogp bike....

notice the closed course professional riders disclaimer? if i am not wrong that's the only way they can do stupid sheat on commercials and get away with not getting sued, the honda lawyers let them do the commercial so they are probably confident they will be no legal issues....

and i can't think of any of them being successfully sued? i grew up playing grand theft auto and doom, i have yet to run over a whore or kill a demon..... people can blame whatever they want when they do something wrong but it's always 100% their fault, the video didn't make them do a stoppie into the back of a semi...

wow the aftermarket is already better then the horizontal cylinder yamahas
