First and foremost: I GOT MY GROM!

I was only able to do a short ride as it is now raining in parts of San Antonio. I basically brought the bike back home. It was a 5 mile ride of city/ back roads.

My wife and I went to pick up the Grom on her PCX. I rode the PCX to the dealership and then I rode the Grom back home.

First impressions:

- The Grom turns a lot faster than the PCX.
- You will feel right at home on the Grom as soon as you take off.
- Controls are very soft (brake, clutch require little effort).
- The front brake might be all you need. It's really quite good.
- The PCX is definitely faster than the Grom (though the PCX is fully broken in but even though, it's 13 HP versus 10 HP anyway). My wife smoked me in the last straight.
- I got up to 50 mph (indicated). There still was some reserve. The Grom felt planted at speed.
- The seat is firm but I like it like that. I am sure my butt will hurt after 40-50 minutes on it.
- The riding position is a bit like a super moto (check pic below). The pegs are right under the rider. My knee barely fit in the tank cut out. Someone taller will have his legs come out to the side more. It was a good fit for me.

The arms just fall naturally on the handlebar. It's a very relaxed riding position.

I am taking the Grom to work tomorrow. It's a 9 mile commute. It's all back roads. I have a ride planned this Saturday with a buddy who has a ruckus. It will be interesting to see how these 2 interact.

Congrats to you both. OBD, I like your style buying two.

Gotta say, I'm a bit envious. It's like a supermoto for in-town and back road hooliganism minus the tippy-toe seat height. Very cool.

That's a great way to describe it.

And thank you!

Thanks Jim!

I will try and post often.

I am really looking forward to riding with the wife. I can tell she's going to enjoy going faster on her PCX. But my ego can handle it.

I saw black & red Groms on the showroom floor, both sold. I must say they were very impressive in person, more so than in photos.

Yes it took some time. I actually thought my dealer had sold mine to another guy. This is a hot item for dealers. They have more people than bikes so they know they can sell them. My dealer didn't over charge but also didn't give me a deal. I paid all regular fees and retail on the bike.
