Just to explain me dropping off this fun thread....MissB's insurance quote was just shy of a 1000 (pounds stirling).

So the MSX125 (for her to learn on and me to dick about on) idea went out the window and I have been looking at "me" bikes instead. CB1000R & S1000R

Was the quote in her name? If she's a new rider that probably part of why it's so high. Maybe a quote and the bike in your name might drop that down a bit.

We were riding our scooters on San Juan Island yesterday and saw a first (while we were stopped at a turnout for a photo op): a Grom went by, 2 up. The sight made me laugh out loud. My wife, who rarely says disparaging things (about anyone other than me ), said, "Well, that was just goofy-looking."

Yeah, that pretty much described it. A lot of elbows and knees hanging out in the breeze.

It was on a section of road where the speed limit is 35 mph; pretty views at each turn. No, I didn't get a photo.

This is only the third Grom I have seen "in the wild." Certainly not a regular occurrence. And the first time I have seen a couple on one. Early on in this thread, I think I said something along the lines of: no female is going to want to ride on the back of one of these, which is going to affect sales. And now, 33% of the Groms I have seen on the road had a female passenger. I can't imagine either person on that little bike was comfortable (although you can put up with some lack of comfort when you are younger and snuggling on a bike); seeing it, and seeing how goofy it looked, I can't see where anyone would want a steady diet of that that.

The Grom was followed by a couple on a full size bike - close together, so I assume they were traveling together. If I were the guy on the Grom, I wouldn't want my girl to see a couple on something bigger.

First fuel up with my Grom yielded 105 MPG. However I safely added a bit of extra fuel by being patient and was able to go about an inch above the stop bars in the fuel neck without dumping fuel on the ground. So actual MPG may be slightly higher.

You really could get around on pennies with this bike even at today's fuel prices

Grom (or MSX125 as its here called) would be an nice upgrade for my Fly, but have not seen in any of these in the live yet. Which I find odd since this is a big city and I still see Honday Monkey's (or Dax) in the traffic.

Finely spotted another Grom on the road on Saturday

It was a black one going north on Woodinville - Redmond road at the NE 124th St intersection.

Unfortunately I was on the Burgman 200 going south turning right on to 124th street so my wave was likely not acknowledged.

My Grom is currently in storage. Once done with the Burgman 200 I jump on the Majesty 400 and then its Grom time. Being Summer and a nice one at that it should be next week some time.

I dropped into my local dealer on Saturday, and asked for a test ride, and after tearing around town for an hour, decided that there was no way I could have one. I would be banned for driving like an idiot.

Anyway, that was 5 days ago. I've now signed for one which is being delivered on Wednesday.

T minus 5 days
