Sidi adventure width compared to gaerne sg10 or crossfires
I am looking at getting a pair of sidi adventure (non goretex) but most stores don't carry them.
Width wise: how do they compare to gaerne sg10 (I have those to compare with) or crossfires (stores have them) Any info would be appreciated. |

My Gaerne SG10's and Balance oiled boots size eu 46 fit the same as my Sidi Adventures size eu 46 but the US sizes aren't the same one is and 11 one is an 11.5. The Eu sizes seem more consistent and the conversion charts to US sizes vary a lot. Both boots seem similar in width.

I don't know about how the Crossfires line up with the Adventure, but the Crossfires and Combat Touring(made by Sidi), are nearly the same in width for the standard boot. mind you these boots both have stitch down soles. Both boots are wider then my two pairs of road race boots (Vertigo IIRC) all of the same size.

sidi width
I have a pair of Adventure goretex, they are much wider than the Crossfires I had. Still a little tight depending on sock thickness. The Crossfires were much narrower by comparison.

can't answer that because I dont have alpinestars.
I wear a "large" size 12 meaning its tight in most 12 shoes and boots so most of the time I buy 13 and put an insole for better arch support. Width wise I am fairly wide: for example in shoes: Pumas are too narrow so are most brands except addidas For width i found Gaernes to be perfect width wise. I hope some of these comps might help. when I go back to the store i'll see if they have alpinstars in 13 so I can give u an accurate comp. |

i went and tried the Adventure in 13/48, wearing a pair of Klim socks (long medium thickness, about equivalent to standard white sport sock sold everywhere) : they are way too big, i kept the sidi insole and added my own and they were still way too big, cinching the buckles to the point of discomfort created pressure point that were uncomfortable.
So they are ordering size 47 which is a 12.5 which should be better. Width: they were definitely wide enough, we will see how much width is lost from 48 to 47 while there I tried the alpinestars 3 in size 12 standard insole: they were a bit tight everywhere not painful but definitely calling for a larger size. Keeping in mind its a true 12 not 12.5 like euro size equivalence. Bottom line on width it seems that the adventures are not any narrower than other boots. Gaerne seem to be similar to Alpinestars. Will update when I get the 47/12.5 |

Just went through this
I own a pair of the Crossfires. Absolutely the nicest off-road boot I have ever had. I had some A-Star Tech 10s and that inner boot was a deal breaker. I just went throught the Sidi line-up for a pair of touring boots to replace my barely worn TourMaster Solutions that seemingly shrank. My observations:
