Triumph TT Special. They didn't make many, and they had a low survival rate. Most were raced to death. It was the bike to have in the 1960s. I couldn't afford one then, but now I have one. I built it the way it should have been done. Forged pistons, balance job, pro port and valve job with stem seals, full pressure top end oiling, and Megacycle cams. Modern sealants and proper assembly mean it doesn't leak a drop of oil.
I'll never sell it.

I've got a lower (very bottom) black fairing for a T595 Daytona if you want it, just cover shipping. Pretty decent shape.

I think it has as much to do with who are riding with and the path you follow. Good friends, good times, etc.
Ok, I have a KLR ![]()

While its not the most powerful, biggest, best or sexiest bike around....I love my 2001 Dakar. While Id maybe consider switching to an F800GS, the price would REALLY have to be right.
Id love to have a 640ADV, but I dont think Id ditch my Dakar to do it. It makes me smile every time I ride.

Waaaay back in 1974 I bought my BMW R90/6 brand new. Still have it. 172,000 miles of trouble free
riding. Now out of service 'til I can get around to restoring it. Once I get it restored, I'll start racking up the miles again. But I'll NEVER sell it!

If you were in NNJ way back then, did you buy it from The Sport Spot in Wayne?

Beginning to feel that way about my '04 Road King Classic. I have never cleaned any vehicle as much as I have this......and I enjoy doing so. I will never part with my '99 Toyota Tacoma 4x4, no other truck even sparks any interest. Beginning to be that way about the Road King. Haven't really looked at other bikes since I bought it.....very weird, very, very weird. I have always been very fickle when it comes to transportation....always looking for the "next" one....maybe not any more. That is when I know it is the right one. Had my truck for 10 years....hope for at least 10 more. I can see me on the Harley for a very long time.

My (so weird to say that now) 73 r60/5. Dad bought it before I was born, stopped riding it in the early '80s. I've been staring at it sitting unused in the garage my entire life. Since I had my first ride on it in August '11, I don't think I'm ever going to get rid of it.

This bike.
This is my second 2000 SV. I LOVE SVs. I bought it like this. ![]() Did a bit of this with it. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Then a little of this. ![]() Then it sat in the corner of the garage for 4 years when the clip-ons and rear sets got far too uncomfortable for my jacked up back and neck. I just drug it out two weeks ago after selling my Buell Cyclone and started setting it up to be a comfortable commuter/weekend play bike. I'll be done in another week or so. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I'll never sell this one. Too many good memories.
