That's an apples to oranges comparison no matter what car you want to plug in the slot. My "good used C5 with some tweaking" will also outperform it and it's probably worth $50k less. Many tweaked used performance cars will outdo a new car in a $ Vs. performance shootout. That is not what a new car purchaser cares about. As a matter of fact, most Vete guys would say they wouldn't touch a car like mine that's had performance upgrades.

I agree; it looks better from this angle, but it is still not very attractive to me. I'll bet the rear visibility is pretty bad, too.

I just remembered Bob Lutz's book about GM. With that in mind, everything about the new Corvette's styling and Government Motors makes sense now.
