Anybody use shrink wrap to hold spare tube on front fender?

Got this idea based on how secure things are when I have to take the shrink wrap off things. I have read lots of posts about fender bags with a warning to check them often as they can come loose. Has anybody used shrink wrap to help hold it on? Seems like it would work but maybe there are some downsides I haven't thought about.

Never heard of it being done, but that does not mean it cannot be a workable solution.

With the low expense of attempting it, why not give it a go?

It may look kind of "ghetto" but I will try it out in combination with a fender bag in the spring. It will free up lots of space in the tool tube to move the 21" tube somewhere else.

For maximum irony, please do this on a brand new GS, and film the reactions.

Light shade will provide near ideal lighting.

As the underside of the fender isn't flat, won't this create a space for debris to collect, and/or a reduction in clearance between fender and tire? Or am I misunderestimating how you plan to wrap the wrap around the fender.

If the shrinkwrap doesn't work, maybe a big hose clamp....that should look "real nice Clark".

Are you going to carry a roll of shrink wrap so that you can redo the job with the old punctured tube, after you fixed the flat with the spare tube?

Use old tube as rubberband/bungee!

Fenderbags work, you could always bolt it to the front fender for extra support.

Shrink wrap doesn't do well in the sun for very long. UV will break it down.
+1 on bolting it to the fender. Get a cheapie plastic kitchen cutting board and cut it to fit the bottom of your bag. Using bolts and "fender" washers,
fasten it thru the cutting board, bag and fender with some nylock nuts to finish it off. FWIW, I have not yet lost a fender bag that is held on by it's little straps. YMMV.

One guy likes to meet at the starbucks before rides, but don't have a GS.

There is probably a good reason I haven't seen it in hundreds of ride pics here on advrider. There would be a big space for crap to get caught up between the fender and wrap.

The fender bag is probably held down well enough with straps as I plan to carve a notch into the fender to keep the straps from wandering. Maybe just keep the patch kit and spoons in a separate place.... Just in case.
