And hopefully we've all chosen where we live and are happy with it. I know I am. Into my 5th winter of riding my studded tire KLR and loving it!

But that doesn't mean I don't still go into the garage on occasion, sit in the side door of the minivan, and appreciate what's safely kept warm and dry under roof.

How about a silly self portrait as photographic evidence? Warmest regards from the far and frozen north, Mark H.

If I have to go out to the shed, where I keep my bike, I do find myself stareing at it. I love going to the dealer and staring at bikes! The local dealer has a Ducati Hypermotard that they took on trade, man, I could stare at that bike all day!

just stare at the moto? nope.
got over that probably a week after i bought it, and have plenty of other things to do instead of just sit in the garage,.. and the bikes i have on the racks in the house are prettier (and probably worth more, too).

i might look at one while i'm contemplating some work/upgrade to it, but that's about it.

of course, there's not much of the year here that i can't actually *ride* instead of look at them. (note; i don't live here by accident.)

Yes...I do!

While sick as a dog today, and all I want to do is go out and ride my ass off. So, at times like these, that's all I can muster up the energy for.

i have to wonder if some people just don't understand these things are meant to be ridden, not stared at,...

I just shoveled a couple of feet of snow so I could open the barn door and see if my bike was still there, and hadn't become a mouse condo. It was and it hadn't.

When you stare at the bike, the bike also stares at you.

I've got a detached garage, there's a path worn from my going out to look at my bikes (always been told it's not polite to stare )

I've already told my wife that I'll need a space in our house to display a motorcycle when I can't ride anymore, so I can sit and admire it. This one's on my list of possibles:

My visits to the garage get more and more frequent as winter drags on. At some point every winter ice fishing is no longer enough to keep me occupied, and I have to fire up the bike and ride it at least around the block. All the roads around my house are literally icy enough to ice skate down, but today I rode around the neighborhood in first with my feet down on my ninja. Rear tire spinning like mad. Found a dry road and really opened her up. Still have a smile on my face. Hope this will hold me over till the roads clear up.

Everyone who saw me must have thought I was nuts. Maybe I am...

Yep. Every time I'm in the garage, I'll give them a gentle pat, too. You know - just to remind them that I still care and we'll get out riding as soon as spring gets here...

Yep, I do this too. I had bought some new farkles and was tooling around with them yesterday while in the garage (along with lovingly cleaning some of the bugs off ... when you have bugs piled on top of other bugs, I figure it is time to get 'em off). I had the garage door open and my girlfriend turned up in her car.

She asked, "What are you doing in here?" and I simply had to reply, "Hanging out with the bikes "

She didn't understand

No need to go to the garage. I keep my favorites in the dining room!

Nietzsche, right? Valentino Rossi Nietzsche said that.
