I prefer top loaders like the Jesse and Happy Trails.
I have Jesse 110's on my GSA/Sidecar rig and had them made with front hinges to allow opening without hitting the sidecar.
From Panniers

The one drawback is price...they are NOT cheap.
But the quality you get is worth the $$.

Cheers and good luck.

Gotta say that from the back with the lid open, they look kinda cool but still not for me.

HOWEVER, if I were an adventure rider that would have been a completely different story.

Givi side cases

Full link to the product listing here: http://www.givi.ca/en/gamme_detail.php?val=49

I think it's called an OBK48 Monokey case, and it's 48 liters.

I think these cases look pretty good.

Well there's a surprise, not available in the US? At least not on the Givi US website.

It does look better than the Trax though.

Heck, I didn't even notice it was not available here in the U.S. I wonder if that's a permanent thing, or if it's "coming soon?"

Well, I wrote to them with questions so let's see if they answer....hold your breath.

I kinda like those but then I went back and looked at the Givi E41's again and I REALLY like those.

Also, so far they show no top case for this series but I'm sure they'll come out with one.

Well, at least the Italians have sizes on their site http://www.givi.it/Valigie-laterali/...REKKER-OUTBACK

Still no top case though.

Also, I found this that I might be interested in http://www.givi.it/Bauletti/Monokey/V47NN-TECH Keyless entry. Normally I wouldn't care much but since the E41's side cases are keyless, maybe I should get one of these to match. I wonder if it'll hold two helmets.

Givi is getting a bunch of new stuff in a couple of weeks so maybe they'll have this new stuff? I'll be there next week so I'll ask.

Oops, click on top and choose English...

That's a gorgeous topcase.

I love it!

http://www.givi.it/cases/monokey/

The 55 is keyless but don't like the way the lights look
and don't like the angled lines on the 47's, plus I wanted a bigger top box.

I have the E55 Maxia Tech... all black. It's very nice. Fits two helmets easily. All the connections and locks and mechanisms work smoothly.

Not my photo, since I just bought a new digital camera and I haven't figured out how to use it, yet.

If you Google "Givi E55 Maxia Tech" you'll see a bunch of pics. Some of the pics are pretty good.

Yeah, was just curious. I still don't like it as much as the 52. I think the 52 has a simpler/cleaner design if you wish but I do like it better. Anyway, maybe it'll look different to me live so to speak. Gonna go and see their selection next week.

Not knowing you, of course, I can't say if you'll like the E55 or not. But I had the same first impression when I saw it not crazy about it but when I actually unboxed it and locked it on the bike, I loved it.

Let us know what you get, and post some pics.
