Not necessarily a mc book but the classic Travels with Charlie by John Steinbeck here is a sample:

A trip, a safari, an exploration, is an entity, different from all other journeys. It has personality, temperament, individuality, uniqueness. A journey is a person in itself; no two are alike.

Lots of good books above that i'd second. I've been on an Adventure Riding Book kick for the last few years my favorites are:

- Two Wheels Through Terror and One Day at a Time by Glenn (Aka Striking Viking here on ADV)
- Jupiters Travels - Ted Simons books are some of my favorites.
- Mondo Enduro - Great adventure, not quite the way I would want to tour, and the writing style is a bit interesting, but still a great read
- Into Africa - This is Sam Manicom's first book out of a four that are really good reads. Just finished the last one.
