990 Spark plug socket..

So does the 990 need a special socket or will a 16mm plug socket work?

Regular 16mm won't fit. I bought a 16mm (5/8") socket and used a grinder on the outside to make it fit.

I forget which brand, maybe Yamaha or Suzuki?, but they have a spark plug socket that will fit down the LC8.

Your 2010 with it's fancy new spark plugs... 14mm aka 9/16. Yes, the fiche lies and yes, I found out the hard way. CJ's got a good one with some sweet magnet action and a 3/8 extension.

so it's 14mm for an '08 SE then? If so I'll buy a regular socket and spend a morning down at my dad's and turn it down so it fits down the hole!

cheers

for the v-twin spark plug

I use the spark plug tool that came with my 525 exc and I attach a regular ratchet to it.

Probably not. Probably 16mm but don't take my word for it. I'm just some jackass on a forum.
