handlebar suggestions?
Howdy!
I have a 99 KLR650, and as you know that means I am a cheap-scape. (spell check that one) Anyway, I want to replace my: handlebars, hand guards, throttle assembly, grips to heated, and girl friend. I already chunk-ed the used girl friend and I am thinking of buying a shinny new one with MORE mileage. lol ![]()

Rocky Mountain ATV Tusk brand stuff. Works well for frugal individuals like myself.

I have used the ProTaper ATV-Mid on the KLR before. A great replacement for stick, and much better quality and aluminum as well.

MSR ATV High bars are pretty close to stock and cheap. They're no stronger than stock -- they WILL bend in any self-respecting biff. Aluminum bars are strong and expensive.
The Tusk handguards from Rocky Mountain ATV/MC are cheap and strong as hell. I've tested mine several times off-road.

Nothing wrong with bars that do bend.... At least those long riser bolts and triple clamp does not break! Think about it. You can ride home with bent bars but not so much with that other stuff broken off
. Steel bars are cheap. Triple clamps, not so cheap! The stronger the alum bars get, the more they transmit force back down the line.
