not for the weak

This coarce is not for the faint of heart. Although most of the 50 miles isn't too bad, the few tough spots have a high cost of failure. Last year there was a KTM950 had a tip over in one of the tight spots, the bike went down an enbankment maybe 8 feet into about 5 feet of water. Not sure how long it took before the bike was out of the drink, I don't know if there's enough fluid flushing in the world to eraise that damage. All I'm saying is be prepaired to pick your bike up off some rocky terrain.

I felt sorry for that guy. From what I understand it was a brand new 990 not even broke in yet.. Ouch. I hear he got it back up and running good. I did see a photo posted somewhere but have not been able to find it.
I dont remember any rocks?

Ok, so after watching your video of last years race I've decided I'm going for it!

I'll be the one on the starting line fully loaded, head out about 25 miles and set up camp. Drink beer and grill up a fat steak.

Who's with me?

Can't wait to see this class in action. :yay

I'll be on a little orange bike that's half the weight of those behemoths.

I am planning to attend the 100 and hopefully race my 450. I will probably try to hit up someone for truck-pool when my buddy flakes out at the last minute, stay tuned!
There is still time to buy one!

The D100 is a right of passage for any off-road rider. Only made one attempt on the YZ a few years ago but was unprepared for a flat. I was running the tubliss in the front and thought my only enemy out there was a pinch flat. Guess you can still rip a gash in your tire to large for plugs. (who knew?)
This will be the third year in a row I'll be leaving for Baja the following week of the D100 and won't be able to swing them both. I'm going to need to come back to Odessa and rider the KTM or YZ again and at least get a finnisher shirt.

As for the Adventure class. Have you ever ridin a KTM 690 and a 950/990 back to back?? They are not even close to being in the same class. I think it should be a Muli-Cylinder Adv class.

SHHHH! Shut it! Don't say that...!

...they'll never know... ;)

Seriously, my guess is that's been considered already, but shor tof splitting hairs until classes have 2 or 3 bikes each, you've got to draw a reasonable line somewhere...

I'll leave the rotopax storage cases on the 690, 'mkay...? ;)

just try to finnish

Like 88NX250 said, all you need to do is finnish. Have fun, go fast were you can, but take you time in the tough spots and just try to get the bike to the finnish line in one piece.

Can anyone provide details of what the dual sport course is like? it sounds as though it is a different course than the 100, and is run on Saturday - is this the Poker Run course? or is that even different? Certainly sounds like a blast -

The dual sports course uses some of the poker run course but also some other areas that are not touched by the race or the poker run. Plus it has at least 1 beer stop Come on out you'll have a blast!!

I believe the dual sport runs part of the poker run course, but then cuts off for some pavement, through Odessa, and stops at a brewery for lunch!?! I think I'm running the dual sport this year!
