Dodge City 300, July 4, 1914
1914 was the first year of the Dodge City 300 and the first year the Harley produced a motorcycle specifically for racing. Indian still won the race, but Harley still had a strong showing. Next year marks the 100 anniversary of that race and Dodge City plans to have a big event to commemorate it.

Hmmm, might have to go check that out. Only 90 minutes from my house, and by next year I might be ready to go back to Dodge City again
(its not a bad town, but there just isn't a hell of a lot to do there)

Not much info on that website yet. There is a box to click on for "registration" but it doesn't say what the registration is for. No list of classes for the races.
The tentative schedule looks like about 2 or 3 (at most) days worth of stuff spread out over 6 days. A peoples choice bike show on wednesday morning? Most of us will be at work then. I hope they tighten things up. There are thousands and thousand of riders within a days ride of Dodge City. I don't know how many will take off all week for this though. My guess would be, not many. |
