We're heading into finals week, then spring break. So we'll pick this up in April.

We are finally back at it. A lot will be happening in the next few weeks.
We've started putting in wooden strips that the side trays and front deck will be mounted on.

And also a performance exhaust

Things are moving along. I've got plenty of pictures to post for you.
We fiberglassed the wooden "shelves" in. We got the side trays put in, and the outside of the boat is now painted

Cut some aluminum sheet to match the curve.

Aluminum pipe was slotted to fit the sheet.

Flanges welded on to the ends of the pipe where we would fiberglass over.

Vertical posts were welded on for additional support.

Getting ready to glass in the trays

After the fiberglass layup. Just letting it cure now.

After it had all cured, the boat was much more rigid.

And now its blue!

Now we are working on these front decks.

This weekend the boat will be getting a protective urethane layer sprayed on the bottom of the hull.

That's all for now, More to come soon!

We got the boat coated with Arma Coating. This week we're planning on spraying the inside with Zolatone. We are also working on the anchor system and oar lock blocks. We hope to get it finished (or mostly finished) this week so we can present it at some Senior project symposium thingy...

Not worried about the glass over the aluminum braces cracking as the boat flexes?

Sweet project! Are you going to test on the upper Klamath or be gentle and just go for the lower Klamath? Rowing drift boats are fun, just don't let some rookie trash the boat the first day out!

No clue! Hopefully we can get this thing in the water soon and find out. You talk like we know what we are doing

I think upper. Our advisor is the experienced boater. We'll let him drive, its his money anyway.

Sorry about the double tap; no explanation as to how it happened.

I figured it was out of character... I saw 3 when I posted, separated by other posts. I had a Santa flashback.
