HI ,glad to introduced our bike and team ,a woman and four men .four bikes all
made in China , 150~223 ml emission. maybe you thought it's so small .
in China ,motorbike don't allowed get into highway ,in national way maybe
there is a cattle waitting for you behind the corner .so you couldn't
ride up to 100 km/h .in fact national way will give you more experience
more beautiful view .

all us four riders are embedded micro_controller engineer ,came from on company located in xi'an city (the city famous by the Emperor Qin's Terra-cotta Warriors) .
I ride 10 years ,they are new riders , about one year ,be the first bike 150cc is ok for them .

tell you more about chinese bike if you want buy one and traval in China (i have seen a couple riders travel in China before, in this forum ) .
in China in xi'an ,it so easy to buy one bike cost about 12000 ~25000 RMB you can get a
150ml~250ML bike ,but riding permits card maybe wait 3 weeks . in China
almost every big city don't allowed motor driving in to . I think a
international driver's license is ok in most condition . it's common
that you have finish a 2000 kilometre travel, no police checkup your
license .and chinese police is friendship to foreigner riders.
20130928 we begin our travel from xi'an ,it cost 12 days and ride 3000
kilometres . Cave . ancient town .snow mountain .prairie .forest .....
do you have seen a report writen by chinese ? English is not my mother
language so i will cost ten days to finish this report .
hope you like it .

we can ride 350~420kilometre one day .

1DAY~2DAY~3DAY XI'AN----- hanzhong ------langzhong

been a xi 'an people ,this is our pride Emperor Qin's Terra-cotta Warriors, they are made 2000 years ago!

frst day Xi'an to hanzhong . 108 NATIONAL WAY view.qinling mountains

town named langzhong,360view of it .Iphone 4s is a good thing.

our house ,40RMB one person .2days later it would be up to 120RMB one person ,becouse national day of China ,ten days holiday begin ,so many people would be here . don't choose oct 1~10 travel in China ,maybe you need sleep on motorbike .

sichuan province famous for food .olny 30RMB one person .

good idea .glad to answer your qustion ,i think needn't a local guide ,and
difficult to find one.
begin your travel ,you will see some rider same way ,go with them few days ,if they
are young 20~30 years old and grow up in big city , 60% chance they can
talk with you Simple life words use English in southeast of China .
In northwest ,more beautiful ,but not rich ,not so many people can speak
English ,especially in small town ,i like norhwest for it view for it
Ethnic customs .if you are in northwest of China easy translation you can
phone me to the one you talk with ....how many distance to next town ,what
you need i translate to him ...
which kinds bike you choose ?attention ,some norhwest city don't have
petrol that support high Compression ratio we call it 97#petrol.so if you ride a bike Compression ratio up to 11:1
maybe you often trouble with petrol .

nice RR! hard to beat a report from locals .. your English is better than my Chinese
did a 3 week trip to Central China about 15 years ago and visited parts of China normally not seen by tourist.

had advantage of having my sister along who speaks fluent Mandarin. but she was not too good at bargaining and was taken big time on a few negotiations. she chartered a private bus to take us outside of city. we ended up paying someone's earnings for an entire year for one trip. we stepped in and cried foul, but bus driver threatened to call the Police. since we being foreigners didn't want any trouble, we paid the extortion amount.

I vote for a sticky on this one. Xuebao isn't going to win the Nobel for his prose in English, but he's made an effort few of us would dare to make in a foreign language. This is adventure riding!

Keep going!

No worries about petrol in the Chinese Outback, the import BMW / KTM / Ducati / etc. run pretty well with #90/91/93 China petrol but sometimes the water in the petrol at dodgy petrol stations causes problems with smooth engine running.....
