I think the true racers do it the same as flat trackers, but we just set up a track, road course style and giver with each other. Right now I'm the only one with a bike out there. Would love to see others bring their bikes.

Last weekend was our first weekend on Rice Lake just south of Peterborough.

We had 2 ATV's and a side by side with plows both days so we plowed 4 track's. A short oval about .5 km, a longer oval about .75 km, a short road coarse about .75 km and a large road coarse using the front straight and turn 1 and 2 of the large oval. It's just over 1 km long. We will likely scrap the short oval and short road coarse. Just too much time too keep everything plowed.

I'll be out this weekend. Gonna start the morning by digging out the bike and trailer then making a new track. Pm me for directions if you are not sure where I'm running.

Well another good day out on the like, lots of snow to push out of the way today,took a few hours to set up the track, a little slower paced track this weekend, but bot it is tight.

Good to meet up with you today Dave, hope you didn't get the bug too badly, yeah right.

So who's coming tomorrow afternoon?

Thanks for having me out! It was nice to meet everyone. I had a great afternoon and added a few "first's" to my list of motorcycling experiences:
First time riding a fuel injected single.
First time riding in the winter.
First time on ice (intentionally).

I was impressed with how well the studded tires worked! They defy comprehension. Sure, I had seen you guys blasting around, so I knew that it could be done. But seeing and believing are two different things. I now believe!

And I'm trying to not get hooked. Trying... :)

I'm a bit south of you guys, but have seen a handful of motorcycles out on the ice in the Finger Lakes. Looks like fun! I'm wondering if this might be something to try in the future on my flat-track style '82 Honda FT500 Ascot. Hmmm...

This weekend might be tough. Lots of snow dumped on the lake yesterday and now the lake has about 6-8" of slush. Gonna try and get a track prepped this afternoon and maybe get out tomorrow.

Looks like we're a go for tomorrow afternoon. Track won't be as technical , not guaranteeing conditions. But it will be rideable. Who's coming?
