BUT, guess what? we now have Kawi dealers starting to get involved, helping riders and spending money. The ama needs to grow a set and tell harley to worry about building something modern instead of holding the sport hostage with 70's technology.
I'd like to see the triumph up there more also, those things sound glorious!
But its the "History", cant have engines being used on a Mile track designed within the last 10 years.

And really,100 HP is about more then can be used on a mile, wheelspin is the thing even using that much. If Kawi's can be made to hook up and win then Harley needs to step it up.
But then the XR750 needs a full rebuild if run too hard on a Mile.$$$$$$$$$$!

If the sport is going to move on then changes will have to happen, and Harley is unlikely to build a new Flattrack engine.

(Im just thrilled there's 4 Nationals in CA this year!)

Santa Rosa was a great old school cushion track with dirt flying everywhere and sideways bikes at speed!

I asked Bryan Smith how scary it was going completely sideways out by the haybales coming off 4 at Santa Rosa........he was nearly backwards wide open sideways shooting a huge roost leading the main for quite a while till the low line came in.

He said something to the effect "Really effing Scary"

Its neat at a National Flattrack that you can walk out on the track while they interview the winners then chat with them afterwards a little and ogle the umbrella girls.

All the events at Prescott Downs were packed, and it was a good venu for the race. Why people can not come together and make something like that happen again is beyond me.

Yeah, I know what you mean. We had two events here at Virginia Raceway in Saluda. This is a first class facility. If you know anything about NASCAR, the track was built by the Sawyers after they sold Richmond Intl. Raceway, so no expense was spared. At both events, the stands were full. Both fans and riders raved about the track. By all accounts, the events were a huge success, but they never came back. I've heard rumors as to why they never came back, but as usual the fans are the ones who really lost.

Santa Rosa was a great race, had dust, flying dirt, then the inside groove came in and the race was on. It did look like an old school flattrack race, lots of sideways action.

The 2012 Sac Mile is on youtube also.

Stockton (sort of) 1/2 mile tonight! Early blast of valley heat brought in just for the out-of-towners. :) I'll be there.

live feed is horrible, a video from an I-phone would be better! but I'm sure the ama is patting their backs saying how great it is.
can't wait till lima and Hagerstown to see them in person.

That was our test pilot live feed. We are ramping up to 5 or more cams as the season progresses. It has the potential to be cool. Why must we be so negative about a new thing to expand the possiblities I wonder?
